Emergency Meeting on Autism Funding

Published on February 23, 2019

On Saturday, February 23rd - I held an emergency community meeting at Centre 55 about the proposed changes to autism funding.

Thank you to all the amazing parents, therapists and advocates who came together to talk about what we can do to fight back.

Enormous thanks as well to Bruce McIntosh, the Ontario Autism Coalition, James Wardlaw, Ohana Oliveira and Eva Lattanzio who helped us think about how to organize against these damaging cuts.

This movement is growing and we are not going to stop until Doug Ford and Lisa MacLeod back down.

The plan they have put in place is inequitable and will destroy lives and families. There is no value in clearing a wait list when what desperate families will receive will not help them give their children the supports they deserve.

As always, feel free to contact my office if you have any questions.
